Sit With Me
Sit With Me
This snag and rock balance on the edge of an incredible lookout. Snags are dead trees that remain upright. They stand as a decaying shrine becoming both a food source and a shelter. The weather assists in their decay as they become sculptural details on the landscape while over time continue to reduce and finally disintegrate. Although a visual of the end of the cycle of life, during this time of fragmentation, a snag nourishes creatures and can generate life even longer than when the tree was alive.
I am fascinated by this symbolism of birth through death. It mirrors our inner changes as we learn and grow. The rewards that come in the place of what might feel lost within ourselves. It was never lost, the new growth feeds on our past selves to rebirth into a betterment. The snag and rock sentries to this wisdom, show us the glory of our rebirth and of Mother Nature’s grandeur. They ask you to “Sit With Me” in reflection and admiration for your expansion and the majestic wild spaces of nature.
